How important is water to my health?
Water makes up approximately 65% of our body with a higher percentage in our blood and brain. Next to air, it is the most important substance that enters our body. Water is used by our bodies to carry nutrients to cells, remove waste from cells and helps balance the acids in our body. Water is also essential for breathing, digesting and metabolism.

Below are some examples of things people that would require more water:

What is reverse osmosis?
See our explanation of reverse osmosis by clicking here.
What are the stages of reverse osmosis purification?
Reverse osmosis typically consists of 4 stages of filtration:
Sediment – This stage filters out sand, rust and other bacteria over .5 microns in size.
Carbon – Carbon filtration is used to remove chemicals in the water either placed their by the city (chlorine) or those that enter the water from other sources (pesticides, acid rain).
Reverse osmosis membrane – R/O is the purification stage. A semi permeable membrane separates the good water from the bad.
Polishing filter – This filter is used to polish the water to take away any odors and improve taste.
How common is reverse osmosis?
Reverse osmosis is the preferred method for treating water purchased for drinking. Bottled water has become very popular and most bottled waters on the market now were produced with water processed using reverse osmosis filtration.
Is filtration the same as reverse osmosis treatment?
No. Filtration is a part of reverse osmosis treatment but does not include the reverse osmosis process which purifies the water. Although filtration may remove organic and inorganic substances from water, filtration does not purify water. Filtration systems for the water faucets, shower heads and refrigerators are just that, filtration systems. They do not purify the water.
